May B. Madsen, 88, of Blair, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

May B. Madsen was born May 5, 1917, in Lyons to George and Bertha (Osberg) Viles. She attended school in Lyons. After she moved to Blair, she was the foreman of the Tip Top Brush Factory.

On June 19, 1948, she married Harold “Chic” Madsen. Mrs. Madsen worked as a cook at Dana College and at Crowell Memorial Home. She was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Blair American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, and a member of the Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jo Lynn and Frank Wolff; sons and daughter-in-law, Ron and Linda Madsen and Jim Madsen, all of Blair; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Belle Batey of Manhattan, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1997; three brothers, and one sister.
