A. I. Magill, 88

A.I. Magill, 88, of Blair, formerly of Herman, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Herman Legion Hall. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

A.I. Magill was born Dec. 17, 1909, at Herman to Arthur and Hannah (Andersen) Magill.

He attended the Brodersen and New England Schools.

On Jan. 20, 1937, he married Evelyn Enger.

They farmed west of Herman their entire married life. In addition to farming, he drove a truck for Burt Thompson, Tyson & Long, Denver-Chicago for 14 years and for Rasmussen trucking for 20 years.

He was a member of the Herman United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Yvonne Magill of Tekamah; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Jensen of Omaha; eight grandchildren, Julie, Mark and Scott Jensen and Dan, David and Doug Magill and Jon and Monte Michelsen; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Magill of Herman and Harold Magill of Hooper and two sisters, Mardelle Grothe of Tekamah and Geraldine Clements of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Floyd and Raymond Magill.

Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, the Herman United Methodist Church or Herman Rescue Squad.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
