Yvonne B. Magill, 74, of Tekamah, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland after suffering a stroke. She had bravely fought rheumatoid arthritis for almost 30 years.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, at the United Methodist Church in Tekamah. A private family interment will follow in the Herman Cemetery.

Visitation began Thursday, but will also be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Yvonne B. Rennerfeldt was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Oakland, to Carl Ellory and Gladys (Johnson) Rennerfeldt.

She grew up in Oakland and received her education in Oakland, graduating from Oakland High School with the Class of 1952.

On June 10, 1967, she married Robert A. Magill in Tekamah. She lived in the Tekamah area with her family her entire life.

Mrs. Magill was the head teller for First National Bank, which later became Nebraska National Bank, for 32 years. In her retirement, she traveled with her husband, delivering and picking up vehicles for Woodhouse Ford, and would often be seen helping out at the Cardinal Bar in Herman with their son, Dan.

She was active in the bowling leagues in Lyons and Tekamah, attending many state tournaments. She loved family and friends. She was noted for telling stories and could always be counted on for a good joke. Her favorite activities included many Yahtzee, bingo and card games, and coffee times with family and friends. She enjoyed attending the horse and dog races, and trips with family and friends to the casinos to play the nickel slot machines. She was active and supportive in her children’s and then grandchildren’s activities. The weekend before her stroke she attended graduation celebrations for two of her grandchildren.
