Services for Agnes Viola Maher, 87 of Blair who died April 10, 1996 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair were Friday, April 12 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Burial was in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.

Agnes Viola Maher was born July 31, 1908 in Blair to Oscar and Nellie Johnson Gilbertson. She was educated in the Blair Schools. She also attended the University of Nebraska for two years and the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing for three years.

She practiced nursing at the Blair Hospital and at Crowell Nursing Home. She also worked at the Catholic Church as housekeeper for Rev. Nolan.

She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; a son, James Edward Maher III and two sisters, Dorothea Bednar and Jean Robertson.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jon Mulford of Carbondale, Colorado; Melinda and Stanley Lammers of Omaha; a son, Michael of Mary Esther, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Judy Maher of Omaha; 15 grandchildren, Laurel Neuharth, Carbondale, Colorado; Mark Feller, La Vista, Nebraska; Matthew Feller, Plano, Texas; Sheila Strutz, Oakland Park, Florida; Lori Alvis, Longmont, Colorado; Andrea Madsen, Omaha; Phillip Feller, Rapid City, South Dakota; Nicholas Feller, Savannah, Georgia; Bridget Kowal, Omaha; Kerry Lammers, Omaha; Michelle Horton, Omaha; Tracy Randall, Orinda, California; Vicki Maher, Livermore, California; Katharine Bovender, Pensacola, Florida; 20 great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews, Kay Spidle of Blair; Jean Coen, Grand Island, Nebraska; John Bednar, Fremont; Tommy Robertson, Brentwood, Tennessee; Gary Robertson, Little Rock, Arkansas and Kim Bradley, Pendleton, Kentucky.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
