Richard Maher, Former Blair Man Buried At Anaheim

Word was received here late Friday of the death of Mr. Richard Maher 52 years old, of Anaheim, California.

He was the son of the late William Maher, Blair Attorney, and Winifred Maher. Richard was born and raised in Blair, moving to California a number of years ago. He became a lawyer and after serving with the Federal Bureau of Investigation he joined the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Later, Mr. Maher became one of the top rated defense lawyers in the Los Angeles area. During World War II, he served as a combat crew member with the Air Force in Europe. He is survived by his mother, his wife, Nancy and 4 children. Local survivors include 2 aunts, Mrs. Reed O’Hanlon Sr. and Mrs. James Maher, Sr., 1 uncle, John Leehy Sr. and numerous cousins. Burial rites in California were attended by John Leehy, Jack Leehy and Larry Leehy, all of Blair.
