Died – Maher.

Wm. Maher died at his home in this city surrounded by family and friends on last Monday at 5:30 P.M. Deceased had been seriously ill for several months and his death was not entirely unexpected. He was a pioneer settler of Washington county, coming here and settling at Cuming City in 1858, thirty years ago, and had also lived in Blair ever since the town started.

Deceased was sixty-eight years old at the time of his death and leaves a family consisting of a wife and six children, three sons and three daughters all grown, to mourn his death. He had accumulated considerable property and leaves his family in good circumstances.

The funeral was held at the Catholic church on yesterday, and, notwithstanding the almost impassible condition of the roads, old settlers from all portions of the county came in to attend it so that the majority of those in attendance could not get inside the church. The procession of teams and carriages was one of the longest ever witnessed in this city.
