MRS. MILLER MUNK PASSES

SUCCUMBED LAST SATURDAY EVENING AFTER AN ILLNESS FROM CANCER FOR OVER FIVE YEARS

After an illness of over five years duration with cancer, which became most distressing toward the end of her life, Mrs. Miller Munk passed peacefully away at 4:45 last Saturday afternoon at her home in this city.

Everything possible had been done to stay the inroads of this dread disease, but to no avail. She spent a year in Omaha under treatment and a year in Indiana, always fighting bravely for life and hoping against hope that she would recover. Not until recently had she given up that she couldn’t live, but even then she waited patiently for the end that was so slow in coming.

Rev. H. Nielsen, pastor of the Danish church, held a short service at the family residence at 1:30 yesterday afternoon and the regular funeral service was held at the Danish church at 2 o’clock. Miss Ida Hansen sang two beautiful solos during the service. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.

Dagmar Eye was born in Denmark June 20th, 1882, so was 45 years of age last June. She came to this country with her parents in 1884 and grew to womanhood near Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she was married to Miller Munk June 17th, 1903. They came at once to Blair, where Mr. Munk had established himself in the blacksmithing business.

Besides her husband she leaves one son, Leonard and wife, and little granddaughter; her aged parents of this city, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Eye; and two brothers, Lewis and George of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her only sister died at Newman Grove, Neb., several years ago.

Mrs. Munk was greatly beloved by everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed, though none could wish her back to suffer again what she went through with. The bereaved husband and son and family have the sincere sympathy of their many friends.
