Death of Mrs. Main

Mrs. G. H. Main, who was taken to Omaha last week to be cared for at the Methodist hospital, died there Tuesday of this week shortly after the noon hour. Her affliction is given as nervous collapse. She had been in poor health for some time, but she was able to be about her daily duties up to a week or two before she was taken seriously ill.

Deceased was the wife of the Rev. G. H. Main, the presiding elder of Grand Island District of the M.E. church. The family had resided here for several years, the Rev. Main being pastor of the church here before he was called to the position of district superintendent. Mrs. Main was a lady of exceptional intelligence and high Christian character. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Edna, who is attending the Wesleyan University, and Dorothy, who is at home. The deceased was in her forty-fifth year.

The remains were taken to Magnolia, Iowa, for burial. Brief funeral services were held in Omaha Wednesday previous taking the body to Magnolia. – Central City Republican.

Rev. and Mrs. Main were former residents of Blair and the family is well known here; Rev. Main being pastor of the Methodist church. Blair friends were shocked to learn of Mrs. Main’s demise and extend their sympathy to the sorrowing husband and children.
