Arthur Leach, 40, Former Kennard Native, Is Shot

Arthur Leach, 40 year old man who is a native of Kennard, was fatally shot Monday in the doorway of his clock repair shop in the Denver suburb of Lakewood, Colorado. Leach, who grew up in the Kennard area, had lived in Denver since 1952. Police are holding Mrs. Phyllis Leach, 38, in connection with the shooting. She was his former wife. Leach was 40 years of age.

The Leaches had been divorced within the last year and he had remarried.

The victim had worked as a jeweler at Logan, Iowa and Missouri Valley, Iowa prior to moving to Denver.

Survivors: wife Edna; daughter, Kortney and Leslie; son, Douglas; sisters, Mrs. John Massara of Omaha and Mrs. Fred Points of Woodbine, Ia.; brothers, Everett of Lincoln, Eugene of Seward and Orville of Bandon, Ore.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Kremer Funeral Home in Omaha. Burial will be at *Kennard.

Note: *He is not buried in Kennard. He is buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery at Denver, CO in Section P Site 1334. There is a photo of the stone. His birthdate was 26 November 1925. He was in the US Navy NE WWII.
