George L. Ricker, 76

George Louis Ricker, 76, formerly of Blair, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at his home in Bonesteel, S.D.

A visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair with a prayer service at 6 p.m.

George L. Ricker was born November 16, 1936, to Floyd and Matilda (Schram) Ricker in Gretna.

Mr. Ricker retired from Western Electric in 1986 after 30 years of service. He also did remodeling and building of houses and commercial buildings.

In 1957, he married Glennis Lucas and from this union four children were born, Rick, Randy, Ranee and Kelly.

He married JoAnn Witkoski in 1989 in Gretna. They moved to Bonesteel in 1999 where he continued his carpentry skills.

He never met a stranger. He enjoyed helping others in and around his community. He loved fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Bonesteel; sons and daughter-in-law, Rick and Randy (Paula); daughters, Ranee and Kelly Ricker; and a granddaughter, Jade Ricker, all of the Omaha area; brother, Mike Ricker of Iowa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine (Ron) Iske of Gretna and Dorothy (Herb) Mittlieder of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Cherney; and brothers, Ray and Bob.

Memorials may be directed to Crowell Home in Blair.
