Anthony “Tony” Mantell, 68

Anthony “Tony” Mantell, 68, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at his home in Blair.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Anthony “Tony” Mantell was born Oct. 17, 1937 in Omaha to Antonio and Florence (Chandler) Mantell. He attended the Omaha Schools.

He married Gloria Bolton July 26, 1966 in Logan, Iowa.

He was a boat pilot guiding barges on the Missouri, Mississippi, Illinois and Ohio rivers for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, surfing the Internet and having coffee with family and friends.

Mr. Mantell is survived by his wife, Floria; four daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Ronnie Stuart of Omaha, Linda and Mike Williams of Montana, Angie Mantell of Blair and Lora and Kevin Gardner of Nebraska City; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike Jeffers and Joe Jeffers of Texas; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicki and Bob Dawes of North Carolina, Cindy and Ed Pina of Massachusetts, Sue Glaser of Fremont and Norma Cassini of California.
