Adolph Marking, 91

Services for Adolph Marking, 91 who died April 7, 1996 at his farm home in rural West Salem, Wisconsin will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at Jostad-Jandt Fuenral Home Chapel in West Salem.

Adolph Marking was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin July 29, 1904 to Norwegian immigrant parents.

As a young man, he worked in automobile manufacturing in Detroit, Michigan. He then began farming and was active up until the last few years. A leading dairy farmer, his farm was often used as a site to host area farm events.

He was a generous supporter of Dana College and many other individuals and institutions.

He is survived by three daughters, Dagny Sollie of Tacoma, Washington; Ingrid Wynveen of Appleton, Wisconsin and Anne Christopherson of Blair; two sons, Arnie, who now owns and farms his father’s farm and Ralph Marking of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren, one sister, Lorraine Hanson of Wisconsin and other family members.
