MRS. ANDREW PAINE, 68, DIED HERE LAST SUNDAY

Mrs. Andrew Paine, a resident of Blair for nearly 30 years, died Sunday at Memorial Community Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Helen Grimm Paine was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Edyard and Anthony Grimm on May 17, 1902 and passed away at Memorial Community Hospital on March 21, 1971 at the age of 68 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, in June 1965.

During her childhood, the family moved to Meade County, South Dakota where she later met and married Andrew Everett Paine at Rapid City, South Dakota on Sept. 7, 1920. To this union were born eight children, five daughters, Mrs. Arnold Widmark (Lois), of Ivanhoe, Minnesota; Mrs. Alden Vanek (Verna), Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Robert Greene (Evelyn), Silver Spring, Md.; Mrs. Tessa Haas, Calmar, Iowa; Mrs. Charles Noel (Carol), Chula Vista, Calif.; three sons, Hildreth and Everett of Blair, Lowell of Denver, Colo.

Helen and Andrew resided in Meade County, South Dakota until 1937 when they moved to Lyons, Nebraska. Then in 1942 they came to Blair where she lived until her death.

She is survived by her eight children, thirty-three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also four sisters, Mrs. Rose Myers, Mrs. Minnie Weyer, Mrs. Leona Sexton, Mrs. Ola Stoner, all of Oregon, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Sanford Sorgen conducting the service.

Interment was made at the Lyons, Nebraska cemetery. The family has suggested that memorials be given to the Blair Rescue Squad and the Hospital.
