Susan Louise Paine-Gunchick, 37 died Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Services are 10:30 Tuesday at First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Paine-Gunchick was born to Hildreth and Charlotte (Bohs) Paine Jan. 17, 1960 in Omaha. She graduated from Blair High School in 1978. She attended the College of St. Mary’s Nursing School in Omaha and received her pin in 1983. In 1984, she married Daniel L. Gunchick at First Lutheran Church in Blair. She worked most of her career at Memorial Community Hospital I Blair. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 1993.

Survivors are her husband, Dan; son, Jake, both of Blair; her mother and stepfather, Rodger and Charlotte Bauer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Carleene Paine, Tekamah; Tommy and Carol Paine, Spiker, Washington County and Al and Patricia Gunchick of Willow Springs, Ill.; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Paine-Blobaum and Jeannie and Steve Beck of Blair; step-children, Debra (Mrs. Joe) Tunkl and Danny Davis of Countryside, Ill.; a nephew, Charles Blobaum of Blair; nieces, Anna Blobaum of Morgantown, W.V.; Meredith and Sarah Paine of Gilmore City, Iowa and many cousins, uncles and aunts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hildreth Paine.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
