HENRY RABE AT REST

Mr. Henry Rabe, a pioneer of this vicinity, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Stockfleth, Saturday evening, December 30th, cause of death being old age.

Deceased was born in Hegen, Hanover, Germany, Feb. 18, 1827, and came to this country with his wife in 1854, locating in Illinois. In 1878 they moved to this state, settling on a farm in Washington county about ten miles east of here, where he resided until the death of his wife seven years ago, since which time he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Stockfleth, four miles northeast of here.

Funeral services were held from the residence of William Stockfleth at 11 o’clock yesterday, followed by services at the church six miles east of town, of which deceased was a faithful member of many years and was at one time an elder. Rev. J.G. Lang, his pastor, officiated. Interment in the church cemetery.

Besides many sympathizing friends he leaves ten children. They are: Henry of Fremont; Louie of Cheyenne county; Earnest, George and William, of this vicinity; Mrs. Barthel of Wakefield; Mrs. Fred Bohling, Mrs. Fred Wolf, Mrs. Louie Fauss and Mrs. Wm. Shockfleth, of near Hooper. ---Hooper Sentinel
