NORMAN L. RABE, 72

Services for Norman L. Rabe, 72, a former Council Bluffs resident who died January 24, 1994 at an Omaha hospital were Friday, January 28 at Cutler Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Rev. Philip W. Hanson officiated. Additional services were held Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Orchard, Nebraska where Dr. Alan Eppen officiated. Burial was in the Orchard Cemetery.

Norman L. Rabe was born at Beemer, Nebraska.

He farmed for 14 years in the Orchard, Nebraska area, moving to Council Bluffs in 1956. He moved to Omaha in 1991.

He retired in 1983 after 20 years as a carpenter for Borchman & Sons Construction Company of Omaha.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Schwager Rabe, who died April 25, 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Myra McAllister Rabe; two daughters, Marlene (Mrs. Kent) Powell, Lawton, Oklahoma; Mrs. Cindy Osborne, Marshalltown, Iowa; a step-son, Steve McAllister, Blair; two step-daughters, Diane Christensen, Atlantic, Iowa and Lorie Pieper, Papillion; a brother, Bob Rabe, Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Ardyce (Mrs. Ed) Kohl, Lincoln, Nebraska; and Violet (Mrs. Stewart) Hansen, Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs.
