ROBERT LAYTON RAMGE, 79

Robert Layton Ramge, 79, of Plattsmouth, died Friday, July 16, 1999, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services were 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, at Roby Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth. The Rev. Larry Vallery officiated.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.

Robert Layton Ramge was born June 2, 1920, to Alvin Oliver and Bessie Lorraine (Shannon) Ramge in Lincoln.

He attended schools in Cass County – Rock Creek and Plattsmouth High School where he graduated in 1938.

He attended Peru College for two years, and on Feb. 11, 1945, married Lavina Rose Cordes in Plattsmouth.

He worked as a farmer, operating a large dairy farm. Later he operated a school bus line in Bellevue for 17 years followed by Ramge Trailer Court.

He was a member and trustee at Liberty United Methodist Church in Mynard and a member of Plattsmouth Lodge 6 AF and AM.

He is survived by his wife, Lavina Ramge of Plattsmouth; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Mary Anne Ramge of Omaha; three daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Keith Hightree of Blair; Nancy and Charles of Columbus; and May and David Williams of Owatonna, Minn.; and 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Maynard Ramge.

Memorials are suggested to Mynard Liberty United Methodist Church in Mynard.

Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth was in charge of arrangements.
