HATTIE RAND, 85

Services for Hattie Rand, 85 of Missouri Valley, Iowa who died October 25, 1995 at the Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley were Saturday, October 28 at the Presbyterian Church in Missouri Valley. Rev. Renee Mackey officiated. Burial was in the Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Missouri Valley.

Hattie Rand was born July 12, 1910 in Logan, Iowa to Caleb and Ella Marshall Plummer.

Before her marriage to Eilert “Ike” Rand on May 4, 1941 in Missouri Valley, she worked at the Wiggs Variety Store in Missouri Valley. After her marriage she resided and farmed, with her husband, in Harrison County all their married lives.

She was superintendent of the Sunday School at the California Junction Presbyterian Church in Missouri Valley. She was involved in hospital auxiliary work and worked with the Republican party.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ike, who died September 3, 1993.

She is survived by her son, Roger and special friend, Connie Anderson of Salix, Iowa; a sister, Connie Perkins and her husband, Harry of Missouri Valley, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Hazel Plummer of Omaha; a brother-in-law and his wife, Jacob and Gwen Rand of Blair; a sister-in-law, Wubbena Rand, Blair; grandsons and their spouses, Todd and Lori Rand of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; Timothy and Jennifer Rand of Salix, Iowa; granddaughter and her spouse, Rebecca and Kirt Thompson, both of Dakota City; and McKayla Rand of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers were Phil Perkins, John Sherer, Robert Rand, Jr., Jim Rand, Jerry Sherer and Gary Perkins.

Honorary bearers were John Barnes, Janet Barnes, John R. Rand, Ed Mueksch, Gilbert Meade and Dean Dewaele.

Carol Perkins, John Sherer, Jerry Sherer, and Jason Sherer were vocalists. Jennifer Perkins was organist.

Hennessey-Hurley-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
