CLARENCE H. RASCHIG, 78

Former Nickerson resident Clarence H. Raschig, 78, of Fremont, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner.

Graveside services were Wednesday, June 29, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, north of Arlington.

Clarence H. Raschig was born June 25, 1927, in Ames to Herman and Gertrude (Muller) Raschig. He grew up in Ames and was a 1944 graduate of North Bend High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, from Oct. 24, 1950, to Aug. 1, 1951. He then moved to rural Nickerson, where he farmed. He later moved to Fremont, and then, in 2002, he moved to the Good Samaritan Center.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and American Legion Post No. 71 of Arlington.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
