MRS. RASMUSSEN RITES AT KENNARD TUESDAY, APRIL 25

Funeral services were held at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard, April 25th, for Mrs. Amanda Rasmussen, 84, who passed away at her home there on Saturday afternoon. Rev. Robert Albers officiated at the service. Miss Karen Wulf, organist, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Goll as they sang two of Mrs. Rasmussen’s favorite songs, “Children of the Heavenly Father” and “How Great Thou Art.” Nephews, Hubert and Arnold Petersen, Richard Petersen, Ivan Olson, Harold Kjeldgaard and Allen Kruse were pallbearers.

Mrs. Rasmussen was born January 20, 1888 at Herman, Nebraska. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Lars Petersen, pioneer settlers in the Hillcreek community. She was married to Niels Rasmussen and they had two sons, Alvin and Vernon. Four sisters, a brother, her husband and her son Alvin, preceded her in death. Surviving are the son, Vernon, three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
