MRS. HENRY RASMUSSEN DIED MONDAY, SEPT. 12

Mrs. Christen Rasmussen, widow of the late Henry Rasmussen, died last Monday, September 12th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Beales, who lives in Omaha. Mrs. Rasmussen was 87 years old.

For many years, prior to her husband’s death, the Rasmussens lived at the corner of 19th and Lincoln streets in Blair. They were married in Denver September 2, 1916.

The deceased was born August 26th, 1889 in Denmark. She came to this country when she was a young girl. Prior to their retirement in Blair, they were engaged in farming.

Mrs. Rasmussen is survived by two sons, Ross, of Allegan, Michigan; and Allen, of Red Oak, Iowa. There are two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Laverne Mills and Mrs. Bertha Beales, both of Omaha. There are nine grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A brother and a sister reside in Denmark.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Blair. Rev. Robert Albers and Rev. John Petersen will conduct the services. The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge.

Burial will be made in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery with graveside services conducted by the McKinley chapter of the Order of Eastern Star of which Mrs. Rasmussen was a member of 42 years.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Larry, Dick, Allen, Merle, Mark Rasmussen, and Clifford Mills.
