David H. Rasmussen, 77, of Blair, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

David H. Rasmussen was born Sept. 7, 1930, at Arlington to Morgan and Irene (Stork) Rasmussen. He attended the Spiker and Rose Hill Schools, and graduated from Fremont High School.

On Dec. 16, 1951, he married Lucille Matzen at Kennard. She preceded him in death in November 1980. On June 3, 1996, he married Eunice Harper.

Mr. Rasmussen served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, serving from 1952 to 1954.

He farmed and fed cattle for 53 years. He was president of Rasmussen Lazy R Feed Mill for 17 years and, from 1978 to 1984, was president of the Ag-Bag Corporation, which he founded.

In 1983, he moved to Blair, where he lived the rest of his life.

He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, served for more than 50 years, and served on the church council. He was a member of the Washington County Feeder Association, and served on the Washington County Fair Board for 27 years.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Sandra and Terry and Betty, all of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzan and Lee Gass of Yankton, S.D., Kay and Walter Jay of Tekamah; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepsons and families, Lloyd Harper of Nashville, Tenn., Jerome Harper of Canton, Ohio; Kenneth and Beth Harper of Ofallon, Mo.; Scott and Tracy Harper of East Moline, Ill.; five step-grandchildren; three brothers, Roland of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Dan and wife, Linda, of Oakland; Steven and wife, Gene, of Herman; a sister, Delores (Mrs. Amond) Ohms.

Memorials are suggested to Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard or the charity of the donor’s choice.
