HENRY H. RASMUSSEN FOUND DEAD FRIDAY EVENING

Henry H. Rasmussen, of 1865 Lincoln Street, was found dead in the alley which runs between 18th and 19th Streets and between Washington and Lincoln Streets. Mr. Rasmussen, whose death is attributed to a sudden heart attack, had apparently been dead for a period when he was found.

Mr. Rasmussen apparently had been working along the alleyway that afternoon, trimming some bushes for the adjoining properties. His body was discovered by his wife, who became worried when he did not return for supper. He was found lying near some of the bushes on which he had been working.

The Blair Police, the Rescue Squad, and Dr. L.I. Grace, were summoned, but Mr. Rasmussen was pronounced dead and the body taken to Bendorf Mortuary.

Henry H. Rasmussen was 78 years old. He was born June 24, 1893 at Herman and had lived in Washington County all his life.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; two sons, Ross Rasmussen of Allegan, Michigan; and Allan Rasmussen of Red Oak, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. LaVern Mills and Mrs. Bertha Beales, both of Omaha; nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Blair with Rev. Sanford D. Sorgen officiating. Burial was in the cemetery at Fort Calhoun, with Solomon Lodge No. 10, A.F. and A.M. conducting the graveside service.

Pallbearers were Wm. Christensen, LeRoy McCann, Andrew Mommsen, Richard Sievers, Claus Detjens and Ralph Steyer.
