MRS. RASMUS X. RASMUSSEN

Mrs. Rasmus X. Rasmussen, who for the past four years has been in ill health died at her home at Orum on Sunday, January 6, at the age of forty-six years.

Deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Larsen and was born and reared at Orum.

Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen were married May 4, 1899 and they went immediately to the farm home where they have since resided and where she passed away. She was a woman of sterling worth, a good wife, mother and neighbor and was held in the highest esteem by those who knew her. Their married life was a happy one and their home one of the most beautiful that is found in the county and she will be missed from that home with a void that can never be filled.

Beside the grief stricken husband, she leaves a daughter, aged twenty-three and a son aged sixteen, also four sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the St. Paul church of Orum, Reverend Reinertsen officiating and interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery at Orum.

Mrs. Rasmus Rasmussen Passes Away At Orum

Laura Rasmussen, wife of Rasmus Rasmussen, passed away at ? in Orum on Sunday, January 6, after a four year’s illness of ?eeping paralysis.

The subject of this sketch was born on October 2,1877, and was 46 years 3 months old at the time of her demise. She was the daughter of Mrs. Simon Larsen, both deceased and had spent her entire life in this county.

May 4, 1899, she was married to Rasmus Rasmussen and was the mother of two children, Nora and Ray-? And with the husband, survive. There are also surviving four sisters and one brother, Miss Louise; Mrs. Robert Petersen, Mrs. H. C. Raymond, Mrs. Peter Ivarsen, Lars Larsen.

The funeral was held on Tuesday at St. Paul’s church, Orum, the same church which she was baptized, confirmed and married. Rev. P. J. Reinhart preaching the funeral sermon; burial is made in the Orum cemetery.

The family has lost a loving and ? wife, mother and sister, and the community a true friend and neighbor.
