LUCILLE RASMUSSEN IS BURIED AT ARLINGTON

Funeral services were Friday, November 28, for Lucille E. Rasmussen, 50, of Arlington, who died Tuesday, November 25, 1980 in Omaha. Rev. Russell Saltzman officiated at the services at Emmaus Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Lucille E. Rasmussen was born October 8, 1930, at Kennard and was a lifetime resident of the Arlington-Kennard area. She married David Rasmussen on December 16, 1951, at Kennard. She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, Kennard; Washington County Livestock Feeders Association Auxiliary; and Washington County Johnson Jills Extension Club. She was a 4-H leader, secretary of R-17 school board, and had served on the Washington County Extension Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Olevea (Christ) Matzen; three brothers, Victor, Ernest and August Matzen; and one sister, Louise Matzen.

She is survived by her husband, David Rasmussen of Arlington; two sons, Terry Rasmussen and Brian Rasmussen, both of Arlington; two daughters, Susan Rasmussen, Yankton, South Dakota; and Kay Rasmussen, Arlington. Six brothers, Otto, Herman, Rudolph, and Clarence Matzen, all of Blair; George Matzen, Kennard; and Anton Matzen, Bennington; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Hansen, Blair; Mrs. Bertha Wulf, Verona, Missouri; Mrs. Mike (Alice) Christensen, Omaha; Mrs. Walter (Katherine) Koenig, Blair; and Mrs. Clara Wehrbein, Douglas, Wyoming; and two grandchildren also survive her.

Mrs. Clark Cowing was organist. Soloist was Mr. Homer Nielsen.

Pallbearers were Robert Rasmussen, John Wolsmann, Marvin Jordan, W.C. Johnson, John Jessen and Harvey Gehrk.

Reckmeyer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
