Services for Margaret Rasmussen, 76 of Blair who died August 17, 1993 at Community Memorial Hospital in Blair will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 20 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. Burial will be in the Orum Cemetery.

Family visitation will be Thursday evening at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Margaret Rasmussen was born March 31, 1917 at Rochester, Minnesota to William and Clara Jorgensen Mayo. She attended school in Rochester.

After graduation, she married Raymond Rasmussen and moved to Blair. They farmed in the Orum area until 1963 when they moved to Blair.

She was a member of the Ladies Aid Circle of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum; founder of the local Chapter of the Washington County Diabetic Association; and worked at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Blair until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant daughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Mrs. Merle) Christiansen of Logan, Iowa; Judy Thompson and Phyllis (Mrs. Clyde) Bunten; a son, William Rasmussen, all of Blair; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Jean Peterson of Rochester.

Memorials are suggested to Memorial Community Hospital in Blair or Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum.

Campbell-Amen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BLAIR - - Margaret Rasmussen, 76 of Blair died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1993, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Margaret Mayo was born March 31, 1917, at Rochester, Minn. She attended and graduated from high school there. She moved to the rural Blair area in 1935. She and her husband farmed in the Orum area until 1963, when they moved to Blair. She worked at Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office in Blair until retiring.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum, the Ladies Aid Circle and was the founder of the Washignton County chapter of the Diabetic Association.

She married Raymond Rasmussen Sept. 14, 1935, in Rochester. He died Nov. 9, 1982.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Christiansen of Logan, Iowa; Judy Thompson and Phyllis Bunton, both of Blair; a son William of Blair; a sister, Jean Peterson of Rochester, Minn.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. The Rev. Chris Beyer will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:30 tonight at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Burial will be at Orum Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Memorial Community Hospital in Blair and the church.
