DEATH OF MRS. RASMUSSEN

Mrs. Marianna Rasmussen, among the pioneer settlers of Washington county, passed away at the home of her youngest son, Robert Peterson, 718 East Tenth street, last evening. Mrs. Rasmussen was a native of Denmark, where she was born March 28, 1833. With her husband she came to Nebraska 39 years ago and located on a homestead in Washington county, where she made her home until the death of her husband, Dec. 3, 1896. She then removed to Fremont to make her home. For the last six years she has made her home with her son.

The close surviving relatives are four sons, Rasmus, Peter, Martin and Robert, and two daughters, Miss Mary Peterson and Mrs. M.C. Jensen. She had thirteen grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ernsion of Oregon and a brother, Peter Morgensen, of Arlington.

She has been a devout member of the Danish Lutheran church since girlhood and had always taken an active interest in church affairs.

The funeral will be held Monday at the residence of her son, Robert, at 8:30 a.m. and at the Danish Lutheran church at 9 o’clock. The body will be taken to Washington county for burial beside the grave of her husband. –Fremont Tribune
