MRS. HANS RASMUSSEN

The death of Mrs. Hans Rasmussen occurred at the family home in Dexterville on last Monday night, the 20th inst. after a short illness. Deceased was the wife of Hans Rasmussen to whom she was married in 1871 and lived on a farm west of Orum until coming to Blair to live about 20 years ago. Of ten children born to them, six are still living.

Funeral service was held at the home on Thursday at 12 o’clock m., and at the church near Orum at 1 o’clock p.m., Rev. M.W. Halverson, of Omaha, officiating and the burial made in the cemetery near the Orum church.

Mrs. Hans Rasmussen died at the family home in Dexterville at 12:40 Monday night of erysipelas, after an illness of about ten days. The funeral will be held at the house at 12 o’clock tomorrow, Thursday, and at St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Orum at 1 o’clock, Rev. M.W. Halverson, of Omaha, officiating. Burial will be made in the church yard near by. Martha Christiansen was born in Langeland, Denmark, Jan. 27th, 1852, and was therefore almost 65 years of age. She came to this country in 1869 and was married to Hans Rasmussen June 15th, 1871, at Orum. They made their home on the old homestead until 1895, when they moved to this city. Ten children were born to them, six of whom are living: Chris, Rasmus, Mrs. Anna and Mrs. Emma Nelson, all of the Orum neighborhood; Mrs. Mary Jensen of Denver, Colo.; and Laura, who lived at home.
