MARY M. RASMUSSEN, 76

Mary M. Rasmussen, 76, of Lincoln died Sunday, July 27, 2008, with family and friends at her side.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Zion Lutheran Church in Scotia.

Mary Maxine Yax was born October 22, 1931, to Ethel and LeRoy Yax. She was an artist, writer, musician, kite-flying, fire-cracker-loving soul.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; three daughters and spouses, Cindy and Jim Watson of Omaha; Victoria and Douglas Hughes of Lincoln; Mary Jo and Dan Veskrna of Blair; son Steve Rasmussen of Scotia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Nila Rasmussen of Elba, Vonnie Dzingle of Loup City, Jean and Pete Pedersen of Cotesfield; brother Bernard Yax of Wolback; nieces, nephews and friends.
