MYRTIE RASMUSSEN, 96

Former Herman resident Myrtie Rasmussen, 96, of Blair died Monday, May 5, 2003, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at the First Christian Church in Blair, with interment in the Herman Cemetery.

Myrtie Rasmussen was born April 10, 1907, on a farm south of Tekamah to Harry and Maggie (Harrison) Cooper. She spent most of her childhood on farms in and around Herman and Tekamah, where she also attended school.

On Dec. 27, 1926, she married Willie “Bill” Rasmussen of Audubon, Iowa. The couple lived in Herman for 59 years.

Mrs. Rasmussen had lived at Parkview Manor and at Carter House in Blair for the past 20 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean Rasmussen Pace of Blair, and a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Lie Lany Rasmussen of Wisner; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Donald and Jaccie Brinley of Romaland, Calif.; sister-in-law, Velma Cooper of Tekamah; sisters-in-law, Lulu Miller and Ethel Rasmussen, both of Audubon, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; sisters Thelma Earlywine of Herman and Nettie Mae Bradley of LaMesa, Calif.; a brother, Phillip Cooper of Tekamah; and a son-in-law, Roy Pace of Blair.
