FORMER COUNTIANS BURIED IN COLORADO FOLLOWING ACCIDENT

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rasmussen of La Salle, Colorado were both killed in an automobile accident on December 11th on U.S. 34 bypass and 23rd Ave. Mr. Rasmussen, 70, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital and his wife, 68, died later at the hospital.

They are both natives of Washington County. Mr. Rasmussen was born April 6, 1898, at Kennard. His wife, Celia Marie Petersen was born near Washington on May 12, 1900. They were married at Kennard on February 1, 1922 and farmed in that area until they retired in 1964 and moved to LaSalle.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Douglas L. Herbster (Myra) of La Salle and Mrs. Melvin Brandt (Marian) of Bismarck, N.D. and a son, Maynard C. Rasmussen of Aurora, Colorado. Also eight grandchildren.

Two brothers, Lars Rasmussen of Blair and Ras Rasmussen of Plainview, Nebr. survive Mr. Rasmussen. Mrs. Rasmussen in survived by three brothers: Herbert, Otto and Karl Petersen, sisters Mrs. Louise Harlow and Mrs. Kathryn Holtorf, all of Central City; Mrs. Dora Fitch of Elkhorn, Nebr., Mrs. Lorraine Williams of Clarks and Mrs. Clara Rasmussen of Plainview.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Our Saviors American Lutheran Church and interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

FORMER ARL. COUPLE KILLED IN CAR CRASH

Friends and relatives received word of the sudden death of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Rasmussen due to an auto accident at Greeley, Colo.

Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen had lived east of Arlington on Highway 30 for many years, before moving to La Salle, Colo., 7 or 8 years ago.

Their children all graduated from Arlington High School. They are Mrs. Douglas (Myra) Herbster, LaSalle, Colo., 80645; Mrs. Melvin (Marion) Brandt, Bismarck, N.Dak.; and Maynard Rasmussen, Aurora, Colo., Box 461, 80645.

Memorials services were held Sunday at Emmaus Lutheran Church at Kennard.
