RITES MONDAY FOR SOPHIE RASMUSSEN
Funeral services were held today (Monday) for Mrs. Sophie Anna Rasmussen, 81 years of age, of Blair, who died Friday at Memorial Community Hospital.
The services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Orum, the Rev. Harold Laursen officiating, with interment in Orum Cemetery.
Mrs. Rasmussen was born Oct. 10, 1880, at Fyn, Denmark. She came to the United States when she was 22 years of age. On Nov. 15, 1903, she married Hans Christian Rasmussen. The couple farmed in the Orum vicinity until they retired in 1930 and moved to Blair. Mr. Rasmussen died in 1959.
She is survived by one son, Harold F. Rasmussen, a grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were M.W. Irvin, Henry Wulbern, Fred W. Jensen, Jens Hansen, Martin Larsen, and Robert Rasmussen.
The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
