WILLIE RASMUSSEN

Services for Willie (Bill) Rasmussen, 88, of Blair, who died October 22, 1986, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair, were held October 25, at the Herman Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Orvis officiated and burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

Rasmussen was born July 9, 1898 in Audubon, Iowa, the son of Julius and Jacobena Rasmusssen. He was the oldest of ten children.

He came to Herman in 1925 with a dragline crew and helped dig a ditch from Highway 75 to the Missouri River. He worked in and around Herman for many years and went to work driving truck for Tyson and Long, working for Ned Tyson for 43 years, the last 23 years as foreman of the Tyson Farms.

He married Myrtie Cooper on December 27, 1926.

Survivors include his wife of Blair; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Jean) Pace of Omaha; one son, Keith Rasmussen and wife, Lei Lany of Wisner; one brother, Clarence of Audubon, Iowa; four sisters, Mary Rabe, Julia Topp, Anna Lansman and Lula Miller, all of Audubon, Iowa; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Lee Cooper, Wayne Cooper, Darrell Jensen, Jerry Jensen, Brad Pace and Greg Rasmussen.

Honorary pallbearers were Walter Kruse, A.I. Magill, Wayne Miller, Edward Rabe, George Tyson and Allan Yowell.

Gracie Husk was organist.
