Virginia F. Schroder, 90

Virginia F. Schroder, 90, of Blair, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Virginia F. Warner was born May 7, 1923, in Norcater, Kan., to Harry and Aril (Ankenman) Warner.

She attended school and graduated high school in Lebanon.

On Dec. 5, 1944, she married Paul Schroder in Oberlin, Kan.

She attended Bonnell Beauty Academy in Hastings and worked as a cosmetologist in McCook while her husband served in the Philippines during World War II.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair where she was baptized, taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school, and sang in the church choir.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Paula Schroder of Blair, Linda and Paul Phelps of Hastings and Jerry and Elizabeth Schroder of Omaha; brothers, Gail Warner and Dale Warner; sister and brother-in-law, Danny Lou and Larry Blackman; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; brothers, Dean and Neal; and sister, Romona.

Memorials may be directed to the Blair Rescue Squad or Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair.
