Ruby E. Palmer, 76, died Oct. 21, 2000, at Burmont Nursing Home in Livingston, Texas.

Funeral services were held Oct. 26, 2000, at First United Methodist Church in Livingston. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Herman Cemetery.

Ruby E. Palmer was born Nov. 10, 1923 in Herman to John and Grace (Sheets) Thielfoldt.

She is survived by her husband, M.E.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Lisa Loftis of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rod and Cindy Loftis of Omaha; a son, Randy Loftis of Hastings; sister and brother-in-law, Ila and Del Nelson of Washington, Neb.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Kathleen Sharp of Angleton, Texas, and Lynda Claiborne of Boca Raton, Fla., a step-son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Sharon Palmer of Brazoria, Texas; seven step-grandchildren, and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marlon Loftis.

Cochran Funeral Home in Texas was in charge of arrangements.
