Services for Daniel W. Parde, 54 of Arlington who died July 5, 1995 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha were Friday, July 7 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. Rev. Michael Rogers officiated.

Graveside services were also held Friday at Evergreen Home Cemetery at Beatrice with military graveside services by Bitting-Norman American Legion Post No. 27 of Beatrice.

Daniel W. Parde was born December 30, 1940 at Crab Orchard, Nebraska. He moved to Adams, Nebraska at age three and graduated from Adams High School.

He worked at Van Engen Oil Co. at Adams as a mechanic for several years. He then attended Barber College in Lincoln.

He served two years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from November 14, 1963 to November 12, 1965.

After his discharge he barbered in Fremont for one year before buying the barber shop in Arlington.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, had served on the financial committee and was the church’s financial secretary for two years. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 71 at Arlington and was a former member of the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

He married Verna Daubendiek Parde May 27, 1972.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Parde.

He is survived by his wife, Verna; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Danelle Daubendiek of Omaha; daughters and son-in-law, Renee and Todd Wulf of Arlington and Rita Parde of Omaha; his mother, Tena Parde of Beatrice; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Meredith Parde of Hickman and three grandchildren, Valerie Wulf, Stephanie Wulf and Courtney Wulf.

Pallbearers were Melvin Dissmeyer, Irvin Huls, Lloyd Vogt, Ronald Hilgenkamp, LeRoy Laaker, Dale Haecker, Gordon Stork and Reid Dauson.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

ARLINGTON ----- The funeral for Daniel W. Parde, 54, of Arlington will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

Parde died Wednesday, July 5, 1995, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

He was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Crab Orchard and moved to Adams at age 3. He graduated from Adams High School and worked at Van Engel Oil Co. in Adams as a mechanic for several years and attended barber college in Lincoln. He served from November 1963 to November 1965 with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then barbered in Fremont for a year and bought a barber shop in Arlington. He married Verna Daubendick May 27, 1972, in Beatrice.

Parde was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, served on the financial committee and was financial secretary for two years. He was a member of American Legion Post 71 at Arlington and was a former member of Arlington Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy of Omaha; two daughters, Renee (Mrs. Todd) Wulf of Arlington and Rita Parde of Omaha; his mother, Tena Parde of Beatrice; a brother, Harold of Hickman; and three grandchildren.

The Rev. Michael Rogers will officiate Friday’s service. Visitation is in progress until 9 tonight at Reckmeyer-Mose Funeral Home in Arlington, and an hour before the service at the church. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of Bitting-Norman American Legion Post 27 of Beatrice 3:30 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Home Cemetery at Beatrice.
