Robert H. Parks Sr., 85

A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Freeman Harris Funeral Home in Tulsa, Okla., for Robert H. Parks Sr.

Robert H. Parks was born June 27, 1924, in Tulsa, Okla.

He joined the United States Army in 1942 during World War II. He served in the 99th Infantry Division, and saw service in Germany and Belgium in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded several medals, including the Presidential Unit Citation, Bronze Star and Medaille du Volontaire (from Belgium).

In 1953, he married Claralynn Tripp at the Methodist Church in Blair.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Claralynn; two children and their spouses, Robert H. and Patricia Parks of Tulsa, Okla., and Melanie and Dale Alberts of Milwaukee, Wis.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law and wife, William and Jeanne Tripp of Blair; three nephews and one niece.
