Elsie Marie Hultquist, 94

Elsie Marie Hultquist, 94, of Blair, died Thursday, August 8, 2013,at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at the Herman Community Church in Herman. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Herman Community Church with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Elsie Marie Larsen was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Pender to Lars Larsen and Anna (Hansen) Larsen.

She attended school at the Bancroft Country School through the eighth grade.

She was married to Clement Brummond in 1937. She later married Arthur Hultquist in 1967. She also had two other special people in her life, Kenneth Freeman and Walter Kruse.

She spent most of her life as a wife and devoted mother. In her younger years, she loved to travel, sew and crochet. She was a wonderful cook and for many years cooked at Freeman’s Café in Herman.

She loved to play Bingo and cards, and she spent countless afternoons playing cards at the local café in Herman.

She adored her children and grandchildren, and more than anything else, she loved to have them visit her.

Mrs. Hultquist was a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Blair. She also belonged to the Herman Community Church and attended services at Crowell Memorial Home.

She is survived by her sister, Lillie Donnelly of Decatur; children, Beverly of Omaha and Gary Brummond of Tekamah; daughter-in-law, Carol Brummond of Herman; son-in-law, Steve Bowland of Tekamah; grandchildren, Michael (Sandy)Triplett, Michelle (Steve Morris) Triplett, Kay (Joe Kent) Brummond, Greg (Sandy) Brummond, Chris Hoffman, Kevin (Klarise) Brummond, Ryan (Angela) Brummond, Joelle (Travis) Vogltance, Juliet (Jeff) Jensen, Brandi Cress, Kristen Feiling, Kirby (Karla) Bowland, Hayley (Alex) Hontos; great-grandchildren, Ashley Triplett, Amanda and Zach Morris, Randall (Jamie) Brummond, Whit (Stacy) Brummond, Justine (Ken) Wood, Andrew, Collin, Matthew, and Katie Hoffman, Jordan (Michael Braniff), Tyler and Sydnee Brummond, Ella Terwilliger; Alexandra, Sydney and Gus Langley, Drew Jensen, Wyatt, Julia, and Connor Feiling, Kendall and Kambell Bowland and Leo Hontos; great-great-grandchildren, Cameron and Taylor Brummond, Tucker Wood and Quinnlyn Braniff; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends who she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clement and Art; sisters and brother-in-law, Esther and George Munderloh and Katherine Vachal; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Beulah Larsen; children, Douglas, James, Carol Ann Brummond and Connie Bowland; son-in-law, Jerry Triplett; and grandchildren, Chay Brummond and Eric Feiling.

Memorials may be directed to the Herman Community Church or the Tekamah Library.
