Edith M. Marshall

Arlington – Funeral services for Edith M. Marshall, 76, of Arlington, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Community Church. Mrs. Marshall died Saturday, April 29, 1989, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont. She was a homemaker.

Edith Plugge was born Jan. 22, 1913, in Pender. She came to Arlington during the 8th grade and graduated from Arlington High School in 1930. She received a teaching certificate from Wayne State College, and taught at Whitford School in Washington County, serving as a substitute teacher there for several years. She worked at McClellan Insurance Agency and later worked at Arlington State Bank for many years.

She was a member of Arlington Community Church and Church Circle and taught Sunday school. She was a member of Just For Fun Extension Club, Sarepta Chapter 48, Order of Eastern Star, for which she was a Past Worthy Matron, and served as secretary for the organization for many years.

She married Howard Marshall May 23, 1934, in Arlington. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Stephen of St. Edward; a brother, Gordon Plugge of Lillian, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

The Rev. Robert Sanders will officiate Thursday’s services. Visitation begins 9 a.m. today at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Chapel in Arlington. Order of Eastern Star services will be conducted by Sarepta Chapter 48 at the graveside. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Arlington Rescue Squad.
