Funeral services for Herbert G. (Jake) Paschal, 85, will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 19, at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont.

Paschal was born November 24, 1901, at West Point, Iowa. He was raised there on the family farm.

He became a Fremont resident in 1929.

During the 1920’s, he was a brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad, and later became on of the founding partners of the Nebraska Crib and Silo Company in Fremont, which is now the Stormor Company.

From 1943 until his retirement in 1966, he was a Fremont police officer.

On January 20, 1934, he married Margaret Ingold in Papillion.

He was a member of the First Congregation Church, UCC; the Fremont Masonic Lodge, number 15, A.F., A.M.; Woodman of the World, and a member of the Police Officers’ Association of Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; son Gilbert Paschal of Omaha, daughter Shirley (Mrs. Paul) Emmerich of Blair; brother A.E. Paschal of Keokuk, Iowa; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The Fremont Masonic Lodge will present Masonic Rites during the burial at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
