ELSIE E. RATHJEN, 90

Elsie E. Rathjen, 90, of Blair, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Elsie Elizabeth Rathjen was born Sept. 23, 1914, in Fort Calhoun to John and Elizabeth (Gross) Burmeister. She attended the Long Creek School.

On March 18, 1936, she married Raymond Rathjen. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Mrs. Rathjen was a member of Country Bible Church in Blair.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Pearl Rathjen and Melvin and Joyce Rathjen; and a daughter and son-in-law, Myrna and Stanley Heyden, all of Blair; seven grandchildren and their families; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Lona Burmeister of Fort Calhoun and Arnold Burmeister of Blair; sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret Erixon of Mondamin, Iowa, and Helen and George Jipp of Blair; sisters-in-law, Frances Burmeister of Woodbine, Iowa, Barbara Burmeister of Fort Calhoun, Lucile Knagg of Fort Calhoun; brother-in-law and wife, Robert and Lila Jones of Oakland; sister-in-law, Elaine Burmeister of Blair; many nephews, nieces and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Denise Rathjen; brothers, William, Carl and John Burmeister; sisters, Louise Jones and Myra Sachs; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Selby and Clara Taylor, Clarence and Marie Voss, Albert and Wilma Rathjen and James Knagg.
