WILMA C. RATHJEN, 92

Wilma C. Rathjen, 92, of Blair, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home.

Wilma C. Rathjen was born Feb. 9, 1911, in Burke, S.D., to Louis and Amanda (Klindt) Lund. At the age of 3, she moved to the Fort Calhoun area with her parents. She attended Fort Calhoun Schools.

On Jan. 27, 1937, she married Albert Rathjen. The couple farmed in the Fort Calhoun area until 1968, when they moved to Blair. Mrs. Rathjen spent her life being a devoted housewife.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Lilly Lund of Yutan; sisters-in-law, Elsie Rathjen of Blair and Lucille Knag of Fort Calhoun; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; a brother, Edward, and sister, Eunice.

Memorials are suggested to Crowell Memorial Home, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, or the donor’s choice.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
