Services for Ronald E. Martens, 40 of Arlington who died at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County June 10, 1993 were Monday, June 14 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Rev. Jay Kruse officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.

Ronald E. Martens was born October 8, 1952 at Fremont. He lived his entire life at Arlington.

He was a 1970 graduate of Arlington High School. After high school, he started work at Valmont. In 1979, he worked for Railcar Specialties in Omaha until 1986 when he went back to work at Valmont.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department, was a former Jaycee member and played softball for Lou’s Sporting Goods Team.

He married Katherine J. Weaver April 15, 1972 at Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Frieda Gaines Martens.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons, Brent and Christopher; two daughters, Jennifer and Jaime, all at home in Arlington; and a sister, Kathy (Mrs. Roger) Randall of Fremont.

Pallbearers were Dan Wolfe, Randy Hokamp, Doug Samson, Duane Hilgenkamp, Rod Krause and Rich Meier.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
