ROBERT D. RAVER, 56

Robert D. Raver, 56, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at his home in Tekamah.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Craig Community Auditorium, in Craig.

Robert Dennis Raver was born May 2, 1952, in West Point, to Roger and Sue (Gerch) Raver. He grew up in Craig and was part of the first graduating class of Oakland-Craig High School in 1970.

On May 23, 1981, he married Jan Wheeler in Baltic, S.D. The couple called Tekamah “home.”

Mr. Raver did well operation work for Gustafson Plumbing for 25 years and was a draftsman for S.L.I. and Concrete Equipment Company in Blair for the last 15 years.

He was a true biker. He was an adamant ABATE member for many years. He enjoyed being with his friends, boating on the river, bowling and riding for life and living for riding. His lust for life and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.

He was adamant that his life be celebrated, not mourned. He was a loving and caring son, husband, father and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Jan, of Tekamah; son, Quin, and special friend, Serenity Blake of Omaha; parents, Roger and Sue Raver of Craig; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Bart Meyer of Craig, Cathy and Dan Hall of Omaha; brother, Ronnie Raver of Wayne; sister-in-law and husband, Jackie and Greg Moran of New Jersey and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Connie and Julie Raver; grandparents, Elmer and Martha Gerch, George and Betty Raver; and parents-in-law, Jim and Betty Wheeler.

Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah is in charge of arrangements.
