DALE RAY, 66

Dale S. Ray, 66, of Fremont died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Robert E. Meanor will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday by Masonic Lodge No. 15, A.F. & A.M. of Fremont at the funeral home.

Mr. Ray was born Nov. 11, 1930, in rural Arlington. He grew up in the Herman area and was a 1948 graduate of Herman High School. He lived at Blair for a short time and then moved to Tekamah. He drove a cream route, picking up cream at area farms for the creamery at Tekamah. He moved to Cedar Bluffs, Neb., in 1959 and later that year moved to Fremont. While in Fremont, he worked for Boschult Construction and Montgomery Wards. He was farm manager at the Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children for two years and then worked for Carlstrom Construction. On May 25, 1953, he married Alva Jean Funkhouser at Tekamah.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 15, A.F. & A.M. of Fremont; had served as master of Cub Scout Pack No. 103 and was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 103.

Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Julie Ray of Hastings, Neb.; Mike and Dorla Ray of Fremont; and Don Ray of Kearney; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Rita Ray of Moline, Ill.; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dec. 22, 1994; his parents, Glynn and Katura (Caldwell) Ray; brothers, Art Ray, Robert Ray, Lyle Ray and Earl Ray; and a sister, Margaret Wood.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Ray, Todd Ray, Gordy Ray, Kelly Ray, Lewis Wood and Dennis Weberg.

Memorials may be given to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.
