MRS. LLOYD RAY

Helen Stricklett Ray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stricklett of this city, passed away at an Omaha hospital Thursday morning, March 1, 1934, after an illness of about ten weeks.

She was born February 18, 1901 at Blair, and spent the entire 33 years of her life in Blair. On April 11, 1930 she was married to Lloyd Ray at Missouri Valley, Ia.

Besides her husband and two children, Betty and Junior, she leaves to mourn her loss her parents and three brothers, Clark and Edgar of Omaha and Dale of Blair. She was preceded in death by a baby daughter, Patsy Lou.

Mrs. Ray, with her husband and children, united with the Christian church of Blair and until her last illness was an active member. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Christian church with Rev. W. H. Hunter, pastor of the Benson Presbyterian church officiating. Rev. Hunter officiated at the funeral services of Mr. Ray’s mother five years ago Saturday. Six cousins of Mrs. Ray acted as pallbearers.

Those from out of town attending the services were: Mrs. M.L. Riggs and children, Gene and Mrs. Cliff Lackey of Des Moines; Lyle Stricklett and daughter, Verna, of Parkston, S.D.; Guy Stricklett of Dimmick, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Fern McManigal, Wayne Stricklett, Mrs. and Mrs. Everett Davis, all of Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Ruth Watson of Walthill; Mrs. Vernon McManigal and Byron McManigal of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. George Hopkins and daughters, Mildred Smith and Mrs. Will Lamberty of Fremont; Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ray, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Ab Ray, Peter Ray and Ervin Ray of Tekamah.

RITES ARE HELD FOR MRS. L. RAY

BLAIR WOMAN SUCCUMBED LAST THURSDAY IN AN OMAHA HOSPITAL

Funeral services for Mrs. Lyle “Dick” Ray, 32, who died last Thursday morning, were held Saturday afternoon at the Blair Christian Church, with Rev. W.H. Hunter of Omaha in charge. Six cousins served as pall-bearers. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Present from out of town for the last rites were Mrs. M.L. Riggs and son, Gene, and daughter, Mrs. Cliff Lackey, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. I.E. Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ray, Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Ab Ray, Pete Ray and Irvin Ray, all of Tekamah; Guy Stricklett of Dimmick, South Dakota; Lyle Stricklett and daughter, Verna, of Parkston, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Fern McManigal, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Davis, and Wayne Stricklett, of Sioux City; Mrs. Ruth Watson of Walthill; Mrs. Hazel McManigal and Byron McManigal of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. George Hopkins and her two daughters, Mildred Smity and Mrs. Will Lamberty, of Fremont.

The deceased, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stricklett, was born February 18, 1901, as Helen Stricklett. She had lived in Blair all her life. She was married April 11, 1930, at Missouri Valley, Iowa. Surviving are her husband; two children, Betty and Junior; her parents; and three brothers, Dale of Blair, and Clark and Edgar of Omaha. There are many relatives who mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by a baby daughter, Patsy Lou.

Mrs. Ray had united with the Blair Christian church about a year ago, and had been an active worker in that church until the time of her death.
