Charles A. Martin, Jr.

A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 28 at St. Wenceslaus Church, 15353 Pacific St., Omaha for Charles Martin, Jr., 81 who died about 5:30 p.m. December 24, 1990 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. Rosary will be at Heafey & Heafey-Hoffmann Mortuary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening. Burial will be at Wall Lake, Iowa.

Charles A. Martin, Jr. was born February 17, 1909 at Wall Lake, Iowa to Charles A., Sr. and Ellen Duffy Martin.

In 1932, he entered the livestock commission business at the Omaha Stockyards working for a short period of time with Farmers Union Commission Company. He then joined John Clay Livestock Commission Co. and started a long career as a sheep salesman, representing sheep men throughout the Midwest on the Omaha market. During his later years on the market, he cleared his business with Berigan Brothers and Martin Brothers Commission Firms. He retired in 1980.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Martin who died March 8, 1983.

He is survived by four sons and one daughter, K. C. Martin, Thornton, Colorado; Donald C. Martin, Omaha; James W. Martin, Blair; Robert L. Martin, Omaha; and Carol Ann Martin Berger, Omaha. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two sisters, Margaret Sime, El Cerrito, California; and Mary Ellen Moran, Bemidji, Minnesota.

Heafey & Heafey-Hoffman Mortuary, 7865 West Center Road, Omaha is in charge of arrangements.
