Emma K. Martin, 96

Emma K. Martin, 96, of Ottumwa, Iowa, died Dec. 23, 2000, at the Ottumwa Manor.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 28, at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, Iowa. Interment was at the Indianola L.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Emma K. Martin was born in Rose Hill, Neb. She lived for 31 years in Indianola, and for 25 years in Altoona, Iowa. She had resided since 1991 in Ottumwa.

Mrs. Martin was a former country school teacher, and she retired from Kresge’s department Store in Des Moines, where she worked from 1958 to 1966. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Indianola.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice McNarnar of Ottumwa, and LaVonne Loerch of Apple Valley, Minn., four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1991.
