J. A. Martin took suddenly ill a week ago and on Monday evening passed away. His body was taken to Tekamah Tuesday and on Wednesday was interred. Mr. Martin has been living with his daughter-in-law near Tekamah for years, but recently came down to visit his daughter, Mrs. M. J. Phillipps, and it was there he last saw the light of day. He was 78 years of age and leaves three daughters living: Mrs. M. J. Phillipps of this place, one daughter in Oregon and one in Illinois.
