The body of Thos. F. Martin, who died over at Cedar Rapids, Ia., last Wednesday, of heart trouble, was brought here Friday and taken to the home of his mother, Mrs. Alex Martin, in North Blair. The funeral was held at the Baptist church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. C. M. Foreman officiating. He was born near Herman Jan. 1st 1878, and was therefore a little past 38 years of age. The family moved to this city when he was very young and he grew to manhood here. He went over to Cedar Rapids in the spring of 1910 and was employed in a starch factory. He was married there to Ella Wentworth in September of that same year. He was sick only from Saturday to Wednesday from valvular heart trouble. Mrs. Martin and mother, now Mrs. Hart, and her husband came over with the body. Besides his aged mother he leaves one sister, Mr. P. T. Badgerow, and three brothers, Ernest, of Council Bluffs, and Fred and Hugh , of Omaha, all of whom were here for the funeral. Also Mrs. Mike Hogan and Mrs. Mat Hagan, of Boone, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Deval, of Herman. Deceased carried a policy for $1,000 in the Tribe of Ben Hur.
